Captain Dylan Schmorrow, PhD will speak at the joint SCS/SISO 2012 Spring SIW on 26 March at the Florida Hotel and Conference Center in Orlando, Fl. 

 

SISO's 2012 Euro-SIW will differ from previous years. It will consist of a SISO-track during the 22-24 May ITEC conference and exhibit (www.itec.co.uk). ExCel in London, UK is the host venue. The SISO track is planned for Wednesday 23 May 2012 and will feature many prominent invited speakers from the SISO community. SISO and ITEC are very excited about this opportunity to provide our delegates with a very interesting conference programme and with an opportunity to see the latest developments in training and simulation technology on the exhibit floor. More to follow as the agenda is finalized. 

DoD has developed five major goals for modeling and simulation. One of these is "Educating the Force", the theme of the winter edition of the M&S Journal. 

In a brief ceremony held during I/ITSEC, representatives of the National Training and Simulation Association (NTSA) and the Simulation Interoperability Standards Organization (SISO) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) that substantially solidifies and strengthens the relationship between the two organizations. The agreement commits NTSA and SISO to a closer and more coordinated relationship as they work together for the overall  betterment of the simulation profession. More to follow.

 

The SISO Strategic Plan, SISO-ADM-019-2011, approved 17 Oct, identifies the EXCOM's assessment of SISO's situation, specifies goals and direction for the organization, and provides initial implementation strategies.    

Priscilla Elfrey and James (Mark) McCall were both awarded SISO Meritorious Service Awards at the Plenary Session of the Fall SIW on September 19, 2011 in Orlando.  Read More ...

 

SISO's Conference Committee has voted to award six "SIWzies" from the the 2011 Spring SIW in Boston. You can view the list and access the papers. Congratulations to the authors! 

SISO announces agreement with the Network Centric Operations Industry Consortium Inc (NCOIC) to work together to promote Network Centric Operations and Interoperability. Areas of synergy where the organizations wish to collaborate are in Exhibit A of the Letter of Intent. 

Bjὄrn Mὄller and Mikael Karlsson were each presented a SISO Technical Merit Award during the 2011 Spring Plenary session on 4 April in Boston. Dr. Katherine Morse, EXCOM Chair, presented the awards for their significant contributions to development of the HLA Evolved Standard.  View their citations.  

Newly approved SISO-REF-010-2011, Enumerations for Simulation Interoperability, and SISO-REF-010.1-2011, Operations Manual for DIS PSG Enumerations Working Group (EWG), are available on SISO's Reference Documents page.

SISO recognized three individuals under its new Awards Program (SISO-ADM-016-2010) at the 2010 Fall SIW Plenary. Dr. Katherine Morse; EXCOM Chair, presented the first SISO Technical Merit Award to Dr. Andreas Tolk, and Meritorious Service Awards to Dr. Jean-Louis Igarza and Peggy Gravitz.
