Simulation Conceptual Modeling (SCM) PDG
The SCM SSG successfully transitioned to a PDG effective 18 October 2010, by electronic vote of the EXCOM. The Product Nomination (PN) was first discussed during the 2010 Spring SIW during the SAC Face-to-Face meeting.

The SCM SSG conducted a preliminary investigation on the use of conceptual modeling in M&S and related information technology domains. The SSG performed exploratory work into the establishment of best practices for simulation conceptual modeling, and established recommendations for persistent management of the topic within SISO.

Based on feedback of users as articulated through technical papers, presentations at the SISO PROC/DSPT Forum, and discussions held within the SCM SG/SSG, there is no question that the community needs detailed guidance on how to perform conceptual modeling. The SCM PDG will produce a stand-alone guidance document that will clarify "conceptual model" concepts, discuss conceptual modeling terminology, and enable different stakeholders to improve the formalization of conceptual models.
