Congressman J. Randy Forbes, Chair of the Congressional Modeling & Simulation Caucus
When:  Tuesday, 16 May 2006, 1130

"Defense modeling and simulation is a growing technology industry that provides readily available, operationally valid environments for warfighting training. In addition, it provides opportunities to train jointly, develop doctrine and tactics, formulate operational plans, and assess warfighting situations.  In today’s world of tight budgets, limited training ranges, and over-used equipment, M&S offers safe and innovative solutions to complex military training challenges. Its interoperability, reuse, and affordability hold the potential to revolutionize warfighting capabilities.  The Caucus will showcase M&S training initiatives of the military in a joint task force environment, promote the M&S industry, and will be a forum to understand the importance of such training to the battlefield success."
