Conference Theme:
Use of M&S in Command and Control Systems
The use of simulation for military training and prognostic analysis is well established. There are also a critical operational needs.  During real-world military missions, the ability to predict the actions of friendly forces is critical. The ability to run simulations to support decision-making techniques such as "what if" analysis and analysis of alternatives is a key capability.

There is a critical need for interoperability between simulation environments and actual C2 Systems. To guarantee flexible simulations, the M&S infrastructure must be at least flexible and agile as the GIG in connecting and decoupling systems.

Submit a Paper - "The Future of Simulation Standards Special Joint Track"
In order to support interoperability and reusability of M&S solutions, standards are necessary. While standards development has been a deliberate process, often  characterized by the observation that standards approvals at times occurring at a slower pace than some community members like, the pressure to develop and approve  standards in shorter timeframes has increased, as the rate of M&S technology change has increased and become more market driven. In addition, an increasing number of domains have been identified that should be standardized, starting with technical details and reaching to overarching conceptual frameworks.

This tracks searches for papers addressing issues of standardization to present the current state of the art and most recent research on how to improve interoperability by standardization."  This special joint track solicits papers from both SISO and SCS participants for peer reviewed joint publication.

Special Joint Session of the SISO Space Community Forum /SCS session on Grand Challenges of Space Simulation"
This session is soliciting papers that focus will be not only on model-based design & simulation-based specification and procurement but also on international interoperability and standards for the multi-decadal massive complexities of simulation for Space. We are looking for papers that address the complex simulation challenges regarding shared vision (story or model), uncertain outcomes, difficulties facing highly dispersed multi-disciplinary, multi-national, multi-cultural virtual teams, model accuracy, engineering simulation needs. As well as tracking and storing lifecycle simulations and models for 50,100 and, even, 1000 years or more as well as designing one-of-a kind technologies to be robust and endure for long periods as technology, teams and missions change.
Important Dates:
Submission of Abstracts:
March 24, 2008
Workshop/tutorial proposals:
March 24, 2008
Notification of acceptance:   May 1, 2008
