SISO-Developed IEEE Standards

On 19 November 2003, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Computer Society Standards Activities Board voted unanimously to grant the SISO Standards Activities Committee (SAC) status as a recognized IEEE Sponsor Committee. The SISO SAC Chair serves as SISO's primary contact for all IEEE Standards activities. The SISC, a group within the IEEE Computer Society composed primarily of SISO members, was  disbanded and its functions absorbed into the SISO SAC. This has resulted in a single body for creating and promoting interoperability standards in the M&S community.

The HLA Evolved PDG is currently revising IEEE 1516, 1516.1, and 1516.2.

The SAC has a PDG to update the core DIS standard, 1278.1, and to reintegrate the content of 1278.1a.

IEEE Standards are the property of IEEE and must be purchased from that organization.

Posters can be submitted
by academia, industry,
or government and can
be related to any of the
areas of interest to the
simulation community.
These posters can be
work in progress that is not
quite ready for a paper or
they can be for completed
work.  Posters are planned
to be collocated with SCS
posters and displayed at
key areas such as the
exhibit area.

Interested participants are
invited to submit abstracts
(up to two pages) of their
posters using the same
submission infrastructure
as for papers and
presentations.
