SSG and PSG Defined: In addition to Study Groups (SG) and Product Development Groups (PDG), SISO established two additional concepts in 2006. Descriptions are in the 2006 version of the P&P: - A Standing Study Group (SSG) may be established to represent a specific community or national group, to mature a potential standard, or potentially to provide support to open-source software. SSGs may have an indefinite life span. Approved SSGs.
- A Product Support Group (PSG) will be established upon completion of a balloted SISO product or SISO sponsored product to offer continuity and a place for developers and users of the standards to ask questions, request explanations, seek support, or register change requests for subsequent versions of the product. The PSG takes responsibility for the product at Step 5 of the Balloted Products Development and Support Process. Approved PSGs.
