Time flies when you are having fun and what a fun year 2004 has been. It’s hard to believe that our Fall 04 SIW is just around the corner. This has been a very good year for SISO as we continue to grow and to get involved in new areas. Our Fall SIW will be focusing on M&S for Manufacturing and Engineering. This will be a very interesting session as we learn about the needs of these communities and hopefully initiate efforts to work with them to satisfy those needs.
Spring 05 will see SISO holding its first SIW on the West Coast in San Diego. We look forward to working with SPAWAR, Navy, and other groups out West to further the cause of interoperability and standards.
Euro 04 was held in Edinburgh and was very successful. I would like to thank our program committee members and especially our sponsors for a truly fantastic event. I also wonder how many actually tried the haggis. Euro 05 will be in Toulouse France.
We are still looking for a theme for our Fall 05 SIW in Orlando. A call for theme suggestions will be sent out to our members to gather areas that SISO should be looking at. This is your opportunity to tell us about areas that we should be involved with. Please send your suggestions to the Conference Committee.
For 06 we are looking for locations for our Spring and Euro SIWs. Please send your ideas to the Conference Committee.
