Giant Panda at San Diego Zoo


The 2005 Spring SIW conference will be located in sunny San Diego. The conference will be taking place at the Mission Valley Hilton from April 3-8. The Call for Papers will be out soon, here are some dates to keep in mind:

The average temperature in San Diego for April is 65 degrees, so after attending the conference you may want to stay a few days to visit some of the local attractions. Here are a few that are popular for visitors:

The San Diego Zoo
This zoo features more than 4,000 animals, many of them are rare. Their collection includes adorable Giant Pandas and koalas and is known as one of the best in the world. In addition to the amazing animals there is also a plant collection featuring 6,500 species. Tickets can be purchased online, the admission prices are below, parking is free.

LEGOLAND
If you plan on bringing a youngster, or if you’re just young at heart you’ll definitely want to visit LEGOLAND. This 120+ acre park geared specifically towards kids ages two through 12. The park features more than 50 rides, interactive attractions, shows and building projects. This “Toy of the Century” theme park mixes adventure and education to produce fun for the entire family.

Sea World
If you’ve never been to Sea World, you don’t know what you’re missing. Sea Wold mixes exciting shows and adventure rides to create excitement that the whole family can enjoy. Where else can you touch and feed dolphins, come face-to-face with a polar bear and get splashed by a Killer Whale?
