The DUSD(A&T) has funded a study by JHU/APL to identify best practices for the development of individual models and simulations. The practices of interest should address, in addition to generally-applicable software development issues, M&S particular considerations, such as:
- conceptual modeling
- time management
- obtaining and transforming authoritative data
- verification, validation, and accreditation (VV&A)
Such best practices may be seen as complimentary to the Federation Development and Execution Process (FEDEP) and Distributed Simulation Engineering and Execution Process (DSEEP) developed by SISO. The proposed SG's proponents wish to leverage the SISO community's extensive experience in theis area to solicit input and feedback on this study. The proponents anticipate hat the results of the SG may lead to a SISO guidance product.
